Vienna University of Technology (TUW), Institute of Sensor and Actuator Systems, Department of Applied Electronic Materials, Austria

General description

The Institute consists of three departments: Integrated Sensor Systems (ISS), Microsystems Technology (MST), and Applied Electronic Materials (AEM). In total about 62 people of which 22 PhD students. The Institute is responsible for lectures in the regular electrical engineering Bachelor and Master program (e.g. Sensors, Microsystems, Microfluidics, Electronic Materials, Electronic Packaging, and Industrial Electronics).

Investigation, development and fabrication of environmental sensor devices including the implementation of appropriate packaging concepts applying LTCC-technology.

Key competences and facilities

The institute has vast experience in integrated sensing and actuating devices, microfluidics, biochips and electronic packaging. The designed devices are realized in our own laboratories Centre for Micro and Nanotechnology, ZMNS and Integrated Ceramic Technology Laboratory (ICeT).
