General description

TUI was the first organized university in Romania, with an important research dimension, having 43 accredited centres and laboratories for scientific research in different fields. The staff members - 170 senior researchers and PhD supervisors for nearly 1400 PhD students - produced nearly 65% of the Romanian patents in the last 10 years. Last academic year, they took part in more than 150 national and international projects as well as research contracts with a total value of 20 MEUR. ITE is the major shareholder of the Technological Park TEHNOPOLIS in Iasi.
